  1. Why did you choose to be a fashion Designer?

Errrrrm, now where do I start from? Really I have always had a profound passion for fashion(looking good). I still remember my childhood days when I used to yell and cry out so loud whenever I am dressed in a combination of colors and that yelling wouldn’t stop not until I am dressed in a single color. Then I would smile and say “2match”. #smiles

Growing up, the trend changed and my parents wouldn’t buy into my childish behavior. Also the need to start dressing in a modest way cropped in. At that phase of my life it was difficult to look good, classy and modest because there was not a variety of modest wears to keep up to style and trend yet remain true to ones convictions.

Consequently, FADHEE & MUMIS idea evolved when “WE” realized how difficult it was to find Islamic yet elegant dresses locally. In addition we hope not to only cater for the lovers of modest apparel but also to inspire the intent of modesty in our generation and generations to come.

  1. Tell us what u do.

FADHEE & MUMIS clothing line specializes in designs/production of Islamic-modest yet elegant/fashionable apparels targeted at the muslima and other women who clamor for modest apparels. The females targeted by FADHEE & MUMIS fall within ages 12-40.

FADHEE & MUMIS fashion brand encompasses all aspect of fashion design including:

  • Bespoke(BS): custom made to fit
  • Ready-to-wear(RTW): Limited edition
  • Mass Market(MM): Produced in large quantities
  1. Tell us about your experiences at Flair academy.

To put it simple, my experience at flair was WOW!

At Flair I met a great Friend and a Mentor i.e. Mrs. Aisha Abubakar. Trust Me the whole of this magazine will not be enough for me to share my personal and career path experience with her. Hajj. Aisha is an ”Amazing Woman”. Also at flair is I met the ”FINEST” design teacher/instructor in Nigeria Mr. Isa Abdullahi. #mumblingireallywishicouldcutoffhishandsandstealhistalent. I sincerely pray to be better than them in future #smilesoops!thinkingoutloud

I had always thought I needed to go to London fashion School or some tush fashion school abroad/overseas to become a Fashion Designer. But having being to Flair Academy, I realized I do not need to go to ”SOKOTO to become a Fashion Designer I can realize my dream by remaining in my SHOKOTO”. Flair has truly “paved the path way to success”.

  1. What challenges have you encountered in the course of doing business?

The business is still in its set-up phase, I can only pray to Almighty Allah to make the journey easy and worthwhile.

  1. What are your future plans?

In the future, we hopes to develop line of accessories for women and children. The accessories will include alcohol free cologne/perfume, jewelry, cosmetics etc.

  1. General advice/ Suggestions.

What can I say #thinkingpensively. Errrrm to:

  • Flair Academy, I hope you keep the good work and continue to improve as the fashion industry evolves.
  • Alumni, I sincere hope and pray we would be good ambassador of flair and an Icon for the upcoming fashion designers to look up to.
  1. Tell us about you YouWIN experience?

Woa! Youwin is the First competion I had ever participated in, it was daunting, educative and and tiring. Trust me it kept me on my toes for 12 twelve good months, but it was worthwhile. I will love to use this opportunity to show my appreciation to the entire staff/management team Flair Academy, they were very resourceful and they also gave me a great deal of Moral Support. Thank You Flair Academy.

In addition to the aforesaid, YouWIN 3 gave birth to a new me i.e. The CEO of FADHEE & MUMIS NIG LTD.
